The pregnancy outreach worker facilitates the Canadian Prenatal Nutrition an
Breastfeeding Program under the umbrella of community health. The focus of this
program is to help expecting parents and young mothers/fathers in dealing with
the complexities of prenatal and postpartum care for themselves and their children.

This program educates mothers and fathers through sponsoring different workshops, through hands-on support with education regarding labour, delivery, breastfeeding, maternal nutrition, sibling rivalry issues, family dynamics in a small community and more. Food vouchers are given to participating parents to help encourage them to continue breastfeeding and to purchase proper nutritional foods for themselves while they are breastfeeding.
